Live Rock

I am suppose to be getting a biocube saturday. Can I start anything in a bucket now to start the cycling process with my live rock?

My rock is dead right now. Would need to buy some live rock at the fish store later today. I have 14 lbs of dead rock. How many lbs of live rock would I need to turn that dead rock into live rock?

Also, I will only be using 5 gallons of saltwater in the bucket now. When I put the other 25 gallons of saltwater and live rock with 5 gallons of saltwater, will the cycle start over?

I would get 10 or more lbs and when You get live rock try and have all the rock in a bucket with water and don't do one bucket of dry rock and other live. mix them if u us more then one bucket
