Live rock

Can someone get this simple concept through my head? Is it possible to starve live rock? Here's what I mean: I've had rock curing in my basement for 3 months. I'm in no hurry so don't think this is that post. It's in the dark. Changed out the entire volume of water several times. I'm asking if it's possible to kill off the bacteria because I'm not feeding it? It's just in a dark basement with a power head and heater. That's it. Can that happen? Also if I put lots of cycled live rock in a new tank can you skip a cycle?

I ask because I see the show "tanked" and they put fish in immediately so I only assume they have a ton of cycled media. Is that possible? It's not the glass of your tank or your equipment that needs to cycle so can you do that? Know what I'm saying? I'm bad at articulating this I suppose. Any and all feedback welcome :)

Also can you cure sand the same way? I've got a 29g right now and I'm upgrading to a 90 soon. I was gonna move some sand over but wanted to make sure it was crap free first but maintain the bacteria level. Possible?

Okay

First off lets talk about the live rock. Is impossible to "starve" your live rock as long as the water its in stays heated and properly aerated there will always be bacteria on it.

You will never fully skip the cycle process (even though I have had some pretty results with fritzzyme turbo start)

Tanked the TV show isn't real. They aren't putting all of the fish in during setup. They leave and allow the tank to cycle for a few weeks then return to fill the tank with fish. The so call surprise just makes for better TV welcome to the world of TV magic.

what type of sand are you planing on using ? I wouldn't waste your time trying to cure it.
