:fish1: If it was live rock in an established system, it's already cured, and if you let it dry out, it will no longer be live rock. Store it in a container with saltwater, use a power head or some other type of pump to keep the water circulating, a heater if it's cold in the area you are storing it, and a protein skimmer to help remove waste from the water. If it's a good quality live rock, you should be able to sell it, if you no longer want it. :fish1:

whats the reason for shutting down the tank?(ich, parasites etc.) if it's a long term (2 months or years) I would just sell it if there's no problem. If problems I would dry out

ya its going to be long term.by dry it do you mean just let it dry or should I use bleach to kill everything and negate the smell?

:fish1: Since it's long term, try to sell it, why do you want to keep a pile of dead rock around, that you will have to re cure if you want to use it again? :fish1:

I've simply removed from the tank and let it dry outside in buckets..
When I want to use it again I simply powerwash it and cure it..

I've had it sit there getting wet from the rain for months, spiders/bugs crawling in it then powerwash and cure.. No issues..
