Yeah, it's not working for us. I thought it was going to be PERFECT, and ultimately, it's been a really frustrating year. A lot of it has been trying to get the lighting perfect, and I either have not enough, or too much. (That, and the 400W MH are so expensive to run...) Between the energy expenditure and that things haven't been happy, I decided that it was either throw in the towel or start again. So I am going to try a new system. And yes, we're going to sell the 125. I hadn't advertised because this is a pretty recent thing. As you've noticed, I haven't been around much. Work has been really rough in the past year, and it's going to take some serious re-energizing to save the hobby. So how better to do that than set up another tank?!? (One that I can reach the back of might be a start...)
I'm toying with the idea of trying a barebottom/starboard reef. A good friend in Indy is doing this and loving it- and several folks back in KC are going to it. So I'm really thinking about it.
That, and money is really tight now. So by selling the tank, some rock, and the halides, we could have a little extra. We've found a good deal on a smaller setup, and are going to be moving to that in the next couple of weeks. It will be the smallest tank we've had in a long time; not quite as small as the 29 we started with, but less than 100. (Still plenty for our fat mandarin, I assure everyone.)
So... anybody wanna buy a sweet 125 setup? (Would be great for SPS - but I'm not an SPS keeper. It would help to be tall, too.)
