Im quite new to the SW game. I dont have a SW tank but am planning a 10UK gallon setup. Iwas wondering would 10KG of fiji live rock be enough for my 10 UK gallon tank???
Different types of rock have varying weights per volume of space due to being porous or not; a piece of caribbean rock is much heavier than a similiar piece of fiji rock.
Don't worry about the weight but more towards how it looks and functions. You'll want about 1/3rd to half of the tank volume occupied by rock leaving plenty of gaps and crevices for water circulation and fauna to pass.
You'll need room for corals to grow and expand; it is best if the rock does not touch any side of the aquarium as this will help to trap detritus.
