Live Sandbed?

My 36 gallon tank is 11 months old now. I will admit that I haven't kept up with it as well as I should have which is why I have those pineapples. I also have the tendency to overfeed (My bicolor blenny just loves to eat and is fat)

My sandbed and rock work is just teaming with these white amphipods/copepod looking things but they are much larger than the Copepods I have on my tank glass and have always had. (These large versions are only on the rock work and sand bed and are about the size of a black ant ) They are like ants after their nest has been stomped. In the picture you can see them surrounding a formula 1 pellet. Hard to focus the camera to capture them so it looks like a few but there are a lot.

What are these things? I have also noticed significantly more tiny white worms and have seen one half an inch long. Is this what is meant by a live sand bed?

Yes thats what they are. Not a bad thing either. People just tend to leave them be. I have them mostly in overflow area and sump.
