Liverock Problem.

A few months back a purchased 2 pieces of branch LR from a Reefstore I went to when I was out of town. Now those piece of LR, and only those pieces have sprouted green hair algea.

This isnt the filimin type algea that can be easily scraped off either. I had some of that during cycle and it went away, although some stil gets on the party hat snails.

The Green Hair Algea I mean is verry tough and seems to come from within the rock. none of my cuc will eat it, not even the sea hare. I saw a post awhile back of a guy who ended up just throwing the rock away.

Someone posted to never throw rock away, and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to save it? I removed it from the tank in fear of it spreading.

Any help would be great 1 piece is a favorite of mine.

IME for some reason Tonga Branch LR tends to do that,i think because its solid,& holds phospate,& slowly leaches it out causing the HA outbreak.

I would get rid of it,& save yourself a headache.
