I have a friend that has some extra live rock but he did have a hair algae problem. I was wondering what the best way to clean/kill the hair algae. I don’t care what I have to do to get if off just that I get it all before I put it in my tank. Thanks, Chris

I have SOO much live rock in some tanks at school. I had a hair algae prob. It goes away if I put it in a tank with no or little light for a week. No light...no growth. At least that's worked for me so far. g/l and let me know if you find something better cuz I'll do that next.

cut down on nutrients which it needs to survive such as feeding, and groom as much as you can by hand...bump up your skimmmer and skim REALLY wet for a week or so....

NO LIGHT NO FEEDING FOR BOUT A WEEK MAYBE VERY LIGHT FEEDING U CAN SEE THE DIFF AFTER BOUT 2-3 DAYS , JUST MY 3CENTS LOL
