lobophyllia ?

My lobophyllia was placed next to some zoo polpys and was stung. Half of the lobophyllia looks like it is dead. will this poison my tank or will it start to grow back?

I would get some Lugols Iodine solution and mix it per the package instruction (from memory, I think it is 40 drops to one gallon of saltwater) and give it a good dip.

I think, it my recover. They are pretty tough. Later tonight, try target feeding it some frozen mysis shrimp or something small like that. I would feed it every day for a week or more to build it up a little and give it the best chance for recovery.


I am a little amazed that zoas did this! YIKES! My lobo has been seen eating xenia and other things that drift within it's grasp!

My LFS carries it, alternately, I have heard that you can get it at pharmacies as well? Call around...if you have a decent LFS, they should have it.

with this dieing back can this through off my water chemistry.

I doubt it, but it can't hurt to keep an eye on it.
