Loc-Line Return

I currently have a 29 gallon DT with a GH overflow and a 3/4" Loc-Line return. My return pump is an Eheim 1262 dialed back to give me about a 150 GPH return rate from the basement sump. My question is regarding the Loc-Line return.

Since my return rate is fairly low and I am not relying on the return to provide a ton of water movement, can I remove most of my Loc-Line segments to minimize the look of the return? Currently I have about six segments with a flared nozzle turned to point towards the other side of the tank, but it really doesn't do much so I would like to make it a little more minimal.

I reduced mine to only a few links with no issues, just reduced mobility a little.

I have only the threaded piece, one link, and the flare. As long as you get the water moving in a non-damaging direction you will be fine.
