Long Lost TDS meter

i can't find it anywhere. el husbando thinks he remembers me lending it to somebody at a meeting? anybody gots it?
 
If I remember right, Runner has it. I've been needing to hook up with him to borrow it sometime. I'd also love to get the PAR meter from him also.

My mistake on the TDS meter. Hope I didn't make it sound like I was ticked off or something. I'm not in a huge rush. I'm still out of work due to knee surgery and I understand most people are working, so I'm flexible as far as time and date.
 
Whoever has Dana's TDS meter needs to give it back. I need to borrow it.:lol:

Wasn't me, but I think that a club purchase of of good one would be a splendid use of funds........hint...also a "phosphate-o-meter" or whatever you call them!:hmm4:
 
Also I just remembered Spencer's calibration standards for his pH probe. We have these buffer solutions in 5 gallon cubes and cannot use them after they have been opened for so long. If anyone needs 4.0, 7.0, or 10.0 pH calibration standards let me know and I can bring some bottles for you guys at the next meeting or something.

I also have ORP, DO (zeroing), conductivity, and turbidity standards. These are all NIST traceable.

Sorry, no on the salinity solution, the way our procedures calibrate our in-house salinity solution is to use a conductivity standard measure in seimens per meter. I wouldn't even know where to begin to translate that.

I would love for my last act in congress to be writting a check for them. If the club agrees and some one with knowledge of the "most bang for the buck ones" that won't deplete our funds could let us know, I say buy them!
 
The Pinpoint Monitor/controller I have requires 7.00pH for calibration, and then needs 4.00 and 10.00 to set the slope. I think the unit is pretty close right now, since it's showing about .2pH different from my test kits, so I'm not in a big rush....so just let me know when you crack open a jug of the stuff and I can get some.

I already have a bottle of each poured off sitting at home for you, just forgot to send you a PM or call to let you know. I was finishing my new sump/fuge setup till late last night so that is partly why.

*%&@# microbubbles!!! I never had a problem with the 20L with the EXACT same baffles, but I move them to a 10G and suddenly my display becomes 7UP...... ???

I can translate, 53,000 uS/cm (5.3 S/m) is equivalent to 35 ppt or 1.0264 S.G. The problem comes in when you use it to calibrate a refractometer. Depending on which salt is used for the conductivity standard it may or may not have the correct index of refraction. Do you know what the conductivity standard is made up of?

Just need one or the other, not both 4 and 10. People like to use 10 because then what they are measuring is between where the unit is calibrated.

I knew there was a formula somewhere just didn't know where to look. We usually stock 5.3 standard but are out atm. I'm almost 100% certain that they use Potassium Chloride (KCl). I honestly know nothing about the difference between salts, all I know is my tank has some.

Once we get some more in I will have Coral Reef calibrate my refractometer and immediately do a side by side between my tank water and the KCl solution.

The airwaterice TDS meter works great. It's like $25.
I've got no idea on the phosphate meter.

I should be open all day tomorrow, except for a few errands that I need to run...and may hit up bike night about 7-10pm. Gimme a shout when you decide on what is a good time and we'll get together.
