System:
55 Gallon Sump
Auto Top off with 8 Stage ROI
Med Skimmer that runs 24-7
Charcoal run through phos reactor 24-7
20 Gallon Water Change bi-weekly
Bag Filters cleaned weekly (never over flow)
All tanks covered
Lighting is all LED (Chinese EBAY LED's)
I don't remember the test results but I do know when we did them we set them to ideal.
All full spectrum.
I use Reef Crystals Salt
Water test:
Salt .023 (Had at .025 for a year and slowly lowered with MUCH better results and health)
Temp 79f
Mag: Cannot raise above 400....I have been dosing this tank for a year....gallons of mag have gone into this system with NO change
Calc: 400
Alk: 11.2
ph: 8.2
Phos: 0
Amonia: 0
Silca: ?
Iodine: ?
Trate: 0
Trite: 0
My system has never crashed.
I lose the occasional fish.
I had troubles growing LPS for a long time but never SPS.
System is 5 years old.
PH is controlled by adding live sand and removing old sand during water changes.
Once a week I put a different types of food in the sump to distribute such as Marine Snow or Plankton.
Bi-weekly I will add 6-10 oz of Kent Minerals.
Here are my question....finally..:
1) Currently my refugium is my lowest tank in the water flow. It will now be my high point. What plant life should I put in it (now that it will be seen) to encourage focused growth?
2) Why in gods green earth will my Magnesium not come up?
3) What would cause my Zoas/Mushrooms to not populate/grow/spread?
4) There is something about my salt that I don't like and I cannot put a finger on it. It feels like it shorts my tank in minerals.
Thank you in advance for taking the time....
