Long tentacles(?) from mushroom mouth

Does anyone know what is going on here with the tentacles(?) coming from these mushrooms mouths? They were coming out of the mouths of three or four different mushrooms' mouths this morning. After about two hours, they retracted back into the mushrooms.

Definitely guts. They were expelling waste.

Thanks for the responses. Expelling their waste was what I "thought" it might be. I've just never seen them do it before.
