Long ugly skirts

Okay so ive done the reading and still can't find a solid answer. Most of my zoas in my tank now have super long skirts. Everything is healthy and in check so I'm unsure of the issue. I've moved things around in different flow and still see no results. I can however take a frag from a colony and the frags skirts will be normal for a month or so. I wish my zoas would go back to looking good. It really makes them undesirable IMo.

I used to have a ton of flow, I've never experienced longer skirts myself... I personally find they are more relaxed in lower flow and the skirts get more accentuated for me...

Guess its different for everyone...

Mines the opposite on a few paly/zoa's. I have some about 11 inches in front of a mp10 getting tons of flow and short skirts, the same type is on the bottom with hardly any flow with really long skirts. who knows lol

Skirts have a lot to do with water movement imo, the more water movement the longer the skirts.

I agree big time with OG. Good tank parameters in conjunction with strong current will do this but it's not just current alone that causes this. Current is however a major factor. I personally prefer long flowing skirts and yes sir, any polyp can elogate their skirts in the a particular system. Have seen it many times. Please see this link before and note Post # 14.
