To my eye those look like some kind of pod or a similar creature. Are they causing the coral any trouble?

To my eye no......I've just bought it just it is infested with them all around the base and in the polyps. The coral looks okay and is growing.

Hard to tell but they might be barnacles.

There are several critters which can live just fine with acros. Some crabs can and they cause the coral to grow around them so they have a home. Sometimes these critters actually help the coral.

There are some that are bad but these do not look like it. They look like they depend on the coral and need it to live.

I would keep an eye on it but it is probably something cool and interesting.

Crazy!! I would not introduce them to my tank...thats for sure. I have never seen anything like it. Sorry no help here.
