I may have a twin tube NO fixture. I'll have to look deep in the depths of the basement. Give me a couple of days...

I use 3 dual tube 48" shoplights over my 75g. I built a canopy for mine, but they could easily be rigged to just hang over a tank -- wouldn't be that pretty, but it would be cheap and effective ;)
I think you can pick up a dual tube shoplight at Lowe's or HD for less than $8. You can also use NO daylight bulbs (40w, 5000 or 6500k, 90CRI) which HD and Lowe's carry for about $5 each. I mix in 1 actinic for every 2 daylights.

I looked for it tonight and could not locate it. I'm sorry.

Mariner's idea sounds like a good one. Might be worth trying...

Well, it looks like I may be too late to try to sell my 12 65 watt electronic PC ballasts (8 are still in 2 4' coralife fixtures), or 6 2Xf32T8 electronic ballasts, but I have to admit that the 6500K T8 NO tubes are great for starting cheap. HD here has 2-packs for $7.

I would be happy to sell you any combination of ballasts/fixtures if you still want them, for $10 per ballast/$50 per fixture. If you are making your own hood/fixture, I will sell reflectors (4 bulb) for $10 each (have 3). I don't have any bulbs for them, and the fixtures have some cosmetic issues, but they work well and are all less than 1.5 yrs. old.

Good luck either way!
