Looking for a club around Boone, NC

I"m looking into getting into this hobby, been reading and researching for the past month. If there are any clubs around Boone, NC, I would like to know/hear about it.

Most of us in this bunch are WV, OH, KY. I was looking at the club forums and was surprised not to see any listed for NC. Did you look at the Tennessee boards in this S.E. forum? That might be your closest bet.

Thanks for your reply. I did, everything is at least a couple hours away from me.
Makes me wish I stilled lived in Florida, theres like 4 clubs in the area where I use to live

I think there is a Smokey Mountain reef club which I know may not be right in your neck of the woods but maybe close... Look in the TN board

I used to live down in that area round Hickory and for the life of me I can't even think of a place that had salt water stuff for sale.

Do you have any nice SW shops local? Did you ask them about local clubs? If nothing, perhaps you could start a club for your region. RC is really friendly for this so even if you just had a few people interested in a forum I think they will create a forum for you.

There is one LFS in Boone. I did not think about asking them last time I was there, and I do not think I will go back until I am ready to purchase fish. It's about a 45 minute drive for me.

There is Rasoc.org in Charlotte and I heard rumors of one starting up in Hickory but not sure.
