Hey all, first time posting here. IT wasn't until recently that I found out about this forum. Glad to see there's a place for us who live in AZ!

As the title says, i'm looking for a cheap LED light to supplement (or completely replace) my two 8 Watt SkkyeLights. I know LEDs aren't exactly "cheap", but im hoping maybe a trade + cash would work out. I have a CO2 setup for those who have planted tanks, plus other things like tools and what have you. Just let me know what you're into or looking for, maybe i have it. :lolspin:

Also: Chaeto! Where can i get some? I'd like to throw some in the refugium i'm building to get my copepods more established. :hmm6:

How big of a led setup do you need? tank size?
Also I have lots of chaeto and am near scottsdale and 202.

If it is a small tank how about one of these

That's exactly what I'm looking for, thank you!

For reference I have a 16g Nuvo.

I'm still creating my media racks and fuge rack. Once those are done I'll need a relatively small amount of chaeto. You're fairly close, too.

I can vouch for the 9" Wavepoint.

I had some frogspawn frags and Orange/Blue Baby Yumas that I moved from my 28g Nano to a 10g with a JBJ Nano Glo Light. Didn't think it would be too much of an issue but boy was I wrong. After a few weeks my Frogspawns started receding where I could see the skeletons and my yumas were shrinking. I went ahead and ordered from MD and just received the light yesterday. I just placed the new wavepoint on the top glass last night for a few hours and my frogspawn had already popped out enough to cover the skeleton that was showing. The light is beautiful by the way.

Now as far as a cheato light, I cannot say, but I know they sell a daylight version as well for refugiums. I don't think you could go wrong with this light!

I think LPS would do great. For SPS, I would think it would depend on the type of SPS and the depth below the light. Monti's, Stylo's, Pavona, etc... might do pretty well up high near the light but at only 18watts, I doubt it has enough penetration for much. I have an AI Hydra 26 over my 28g Nano and that runs 90watts. However, a small tank is very difficult to control your other important parameters such as ALK, Salinity, temp, etc... so be careful there too. Good Luck!
