Looking for a skimmer for a buddies tank, its a 150 gallon with about a 40 gallon sump. Would really lie something rated for something much bigger as he's new to the hobby and it would help keep him in check.

Let me know what you've got, we have a moderate budget and would like something of quality rather than cheap.

Thanks!

Just my experience here for what it's worth. Sometime too large of a skimmer is hard to balance because it will "idle"a lot, so you will be chasing it from wet to dry skimming.

Thanks, It's safe to say I've worked with a few skimmers from time to time. I won't be going too big, just enough to handle a heavy load on the tank.

Get a AquaMaxx ConeS CO-2, you will not regret it.

I just brought one last week, will install it tomorrow in my eel tank.

I have CO-1, its the best skimmer I have ever owned.
Going to sell it, because no longer have a 60 cube.

Its in my eel tank now, I want something a little bigger.

Going to see how the CO2 does in the eel tank before selling the CO-1.
If you read the reviews, yet to see anything negative about them.

Super quiet, low power consumption.
Set it and forget it.

+ 1 even though safe to say you have "worked with a few skimmers"
Since 1985, i have worked with well over 25 and aquamax/jnc best i have dealt with including bubble king, atb. Again, fwiw

Pretty skimmer, I'm not a fan of cones. They reduce the reaction chamber size, I would rather have used the space the cone took away to increase efficiency.

JNS make a decent product but they like to follow fads, fads don't always mean they are the best, obviously its a good skimmer but I feel they are restricted.

Thanks for sharing.
