Looking for a tank after a long hiatus

I am looking for a new tank after a 7 year layoff. I would like a cube around 50 gallons +/-10. I am thinking about ordering a tank from Your Reef or Aqua Life. Your Reef gets the tank from Visio I have seen one in person it looks nice. Has anyone had any experience with Aqua Life? I have also thought about making it even more simple and get a Innovative Marine Fusion or Cadlight Artisan. Does anyone have any experience with those? I would be open to a gently used Elos 70 or MIDI for a reasonable price. But I haven't found one.

I had a 120 All Glass Reef Ready with Metal Halides. Now I need something easier to maintain.

Thanks,

John

I have a couple of elos 70s I am about to put up for sale.

John,

I would be curious to see what you do. I been trying to contact SCAquariums for a few weeks now to order a custom 66G tank. Unfortunately - multiple emails have bounced and they aren't answering the phone.

If you decide to order from YourReef or Aqualife - I'd be interested to see how much you paid.

I almost went with a SC Aquariums or Cadlight. But quality and customer service questions(unfounded or not) pointed me in another direction. I noticed that SC Aquarium has stuff going on Ebay all the time, so I would assume that they are still in business. I also got a quote from Reef Savvy in Florida. That guy makes a gorgeous tank! But the shipping put it out of range. Since I now make tank decisions with a wife and daughter jointly that didn't fly.

True; customer service is a big concern. I picked Elos because they made nice tank and Jesse's service was awesome and quick but NOT the same with CoralVue now.

I heard great things about Elos but they have two holes in the overflow box. I really want three holes in the overflow (two for drain and one for return). I want to use a Herbie. My concern with a durso overflow is that it would be too noisy and would drive me (and more importantly - the wife) nuts.

I haven't had a Herbie drain. How did you like it? My last tank had a durso I throttled back the pump until it was acceptable. I plan to use a Vortech for flow.

Herbies are quiet and they work but so do other overflows. It is about adjusting them.
Herbies are almost always custom. Big box mfgs usually dont make herbies standard.
