Looking for a Wrasse suggestion...

I have decided I want to add a wrasse to my tank. I really like the looks of some of the flasher wrasses, but was talking to someone who has one today and he was complaining that it never flashes and just looks kinda blah most of the time. Can someone suggest a colorful reef safe wrasse to me? Preferably not orange one...haha.

It will be going in my 65g reef tank.

IME, flashers only flash when they feel they have something to display for. my old one did it only to his own reflection- you could do a pair of smaller flashers in a tank that size- the male would flash for the female.

alternatively, yellow coris wrasses are bright, pretty, cheap, fish.

or perhaps something less common; tanaka's pygmy and whitebanded pygmy wrasse are both very unique, interesting looking fish, although they do have the tendancy to be somewhat cryptic.

I have seen people who keep cleaner wrasse in their tank and swear that it makes their wrasse flash...

As for your question, I love my Yellow Coris and Xmas Wrasse

have you checked out any fairy wrasses? Very colorful, even when not 'displaying'! More importantly... many aren't orange!

We just got a 6 Line Wrasse. It's a very cool fish, very active with quite the personality. Very pretty and it's supposed to be quite hardy too.
