There was a guy on Craigslist in the east bay I got a lot from super cheap.. Like $5 for adults I think the more you bought the cheaper it was. I put 20 in my tank and there is still a few in my frag tank working in the sump. .. He had an ad on Craigslist maybe see if he's still breeding them.. Well worth it for the price even if you have to drive an hour or so to get them..

Did you guys see the boiling water video?
I think 1/4" acrylic tubing cut to the length of the depth of your aquarium attached to vinyl tubing for flexibility and then connected to a large 60 or 100cc syringe would be ideal. Silicone gloves might be necessary.
