Hi -

Do you know of any diy phosban reactor designs? I can't find one locally at the lfs's, and I don't want to wait 2 days to start lowering my phosphate levels.

TIA

Thanks.

Does the 3/4" pvc pipe fit snug into the filter top? Any gluing?
What did the water filter cost you? Where did you get it?

I had to sand the inside of the pipe a little (used a dremmel with a drum sander) but I didn't need to use any glue, . I got the water filter off ebay, not sure if the guy still sells them, but you can get them at Home Depot for around 25 bucks.

go to filterguys.biz

they have cannisters pretty cheap and great to work with.

i made a media chamber with pvc.

i need to post a pic of it as it works great and easy to replace media. i dont even have to shut off pumps or anything.

my kalk rector is made from that same design. it works absolutly great!
i know a few local reefers that have ditched their nielson for these since they out perform the nielson!!!!

i agree...do the same thing but drill more holes in it with a higher flow rate than the kalk design. youll be fine.....

I used a 20liter soda bottle...works great! Even better is a garorade bottle. just put a pipe in through the lid (use a FPT to MPT for a bulkhead) and some 1/2" PVC to the bottom for a fluidized design, then poke some holes around the lid for the outlet, drop it in the sump with a pump feeding it, and thats it!
