Looking for dowflake and magflake

Does anyone have any extra dowflake and magflake? Is anyone interested in ordering and splitting a bag of each?

Have you tried a pinch a penny? the one in clermont had a bag few months ago. About $30 - $40. They said they can order it any time. You might want to give them a call.

The pinch a penny in Oviedo on sr 434 always has dowflake it seems. I buy it for my pool as well, 50 lb for about $35.

I have never seen the dead sea magflake around here, but I think it is pretty reasonable if ordered online. There are some links floating around the chemestry forum for an online retailer. It still comes out to less than a buck a lb even with shipping if I remember correctly. I managed to buy some of another RC'er who had some extra so never had to order it....

I think you want to avoid the magnesium chloride that is mined from the great salt lake area - I remember reading that there are more impurities in it.

Thanks rdmpe and cristhiam, I think I will call pinch a penny today and see if they have the dowflake. Does anyone want to spit a bag? Does anyone know of a supplier that will ship only one bag of the magflake?

When I couldn't find or order it locally (When I ordered it and Brand-X arrived they'd say, "Its the same thing ...) I ordered both calcium chloride and magnesium chloride (Dead Sea) from Harvey Salt.

It was about 40 dollars for a 50 pound bag shipped. They won't reply with email(at least with me). Just call them and order it.

Yes it was for the magflake from the website posted above.

It's very easy to work with and unlike calcium, it does not get hot at all when mixing.
