Ive had two bubble tips over the years. The first one stayed put for a long time till I did something to cause it to split and move all over. ( i was new to the hobby at the time and didn't do half of the stuff I should have). I didn't lose any corals to it moving. I now have a rbta and it hasn't moved yet, even through a tank trasfer it stayed where I put it. I have it next to torch corals and it leans away from them. Id go for it. pretty safe IMO
The only bad I have found is when they mature they can take up alot of space. One of mine was the size of a dinner plate, he/she had to go to make room for more corals.
I had a big GBTA that moved only when I needed it to move. I would point a jet at it and the flow would cause it to move. It was in the same place for about a year then I moved it to save a SPS it was getting too close to. I also saw most of the fish touch this nem with no damage. Super safe. The mini carpets I had did well too.
