Looking for frags

Hello all,

It has been 9 months since my crash. I've have just been letting the tank recover on it's own, I did a bunch of water changes in the beginning and then some now and then plus general maintenance just to maintain the tank.

After a major cycle for months the green and brown algae are done, my depression is wearing off and I'm ready to start again. The tank is essentially bare rock except a green polyped softie and a toad stool, plus, unfortunately a bunch of star polyps and the mantis shrimp did survive, damn things anyway.

The tank is now ready for additions. I have a beautiful sailfin, cleaner shrimp, snails, crabs all doing well so I'm looking to add some corals.

At the higgins swap I had given out a bunch of frags of a bright green hammer I had. I counted the heads on the skeletons (2) of the originals and they were 89 and 124 respectively. They were definitely a show piece in the tank.

I was hoping someone who received one from me might have a frag that they would be willing to sell. I have not seen one that bright green since. It would be nice to see that piece back in the tank.

Thank for reading this winded request!

Greg

Where in N.e. Pa are you... You maybe can try to pm Dan (rigleautomotive) Maybe he can start you off with something. Also, Internet is a great source for buying frags I have had successful dealings with members on Frags.org, and also Pacificeastaquaculture.com and liveaquaria.com.. also check the for sale forum.

I am in the Pocono's.

BTW, I work in Pittston! LOL.

My request is really for anyone who happened to get the bright green hammer from me at the swap. I would love to get a frag back to put back in my tank. It was one of the first corals I ever purchased and grew from two heads to two separate colonies, one the size of a grapefruit, the other close to volley ball sized.

Have you been in to see Bill lately at the pet zone recently? Been a while since I stopped in, wondering how his frag tank is coming along?

Greg

i did not get any frags from you but i have a nice frogspawn.unfortunately i will not be cutting it for a month or two.i fragged it for the swap and i really want it to grow it out a bit before i cut it again.i do have a frog spawn i can cut you a frag of and some acans.plenty of sps too.

Re: Looking for frags

Hey Greg, glad to hear your back in it again. I don't have much, but I have a few different types of zoanthids. Even the one I got from you at that swap, though it doesn't do as well as the Green which does the best. If your interested let me know. I'm in the process of getting a new camera so no pics really. There is a pic of the green one I have somewhere in these forums.

I would love to try some zoa frags, as long as you have enough without hurting your tank! (I am not looking for freebe's so figure out how much you want !!)

let me know if you want to and we can arrange a meet somewhere. Are you still in Bushkill? I can be in that area in 20 min or so.

Greg

I'm more north, near Hamlin. How far is that for you?

It is only 25 minutes or so. Not far at all.

I am down by the intersection of 447 and 390.

Thats kinda funny... I've been traveling down to 209 the last few days, and have been going 611-196-191-447-209 hehe. Anyway, I have 4 different kids to work with, so I'll see what I can get to frag (im not that good at it yet) and mounted on some rubble and go from there.

Wow yeah cemetary road, thats really close. Its good to hear that theres another reefer in the area.

Hey Greg, made a stab at fragging. I got 3 that are 3 or 4 polyps and 1 that is 1 polyp. I want to make sure they adhere, but so far they are all open. Seems like some of these are easy to frag because they have long extending polyps away from the base, and others are right against the base. The ones that are right against the base are the harder ones. I wonder if its a lighting thing. I wonder if the ones that are extended out are in a better light area and are growing out, and the ones that have a tight base are getting too much light or something along those lines? Anyway, probaby in a few days I'll know for sure.

1 one frag is drak green with light green edge.. here is a pick of the mother colony.

Sweet, Let me know when they are ready and we can hook up. There is a great barbque place by you, we can grab a bite and chat for a while. Maybe BeesGoneWild can join us and we can make a party out of it. :D

Nice to see someone else in the area!!!!!

Thanks for the offer, I'm trying to stay way from softies for now though.

Greg

BTW,

I hooked up with Dan and got some fantastic frags. Dan's tank is absolutely gorgeous!!!!! I was in awe.

I am really excited too because everything is looking great which means my tank is doing good again.

Dan,

I can't thank you enough for your generosity. You are a true reefer!

Greg
