Just looking for a group of people near me who reef and could help out in times that I do not know what I am doing. I live in olympia, wa but am looking for the closest group.

There is a 2 day conference in Seattle on July 23-24 called SeaMax. It is at the Seattle center.
They have a number of speakers throughout the 2 day event as well as vendors from all over the country.
There is a charge to get in.
The local clubs have their own booth spaces too. You can find out which one is closest to you and go from there.
Many of them also have their own web sites if you can't make the conference.

As was mentioned, in the above 2 posts, PSAS is a great club, in the Puget Sound area!

There's also Rogue Reefers, which is an informal group of hobbyists, most in the South Sound area. Information on the Rogue Reefers can be found here, http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/f230/hello-everyone-id-like-introduce-rogue-reefers-59046/

SeaMax, held in Seattle, July 23-24 will be a great way to meet local hobbyists, in your area, as well. I'll be there, as a PSAS member and as a Spokane Reef Society member, since I'm a member of both clubs. Information on SeaMax can be found, here, http://www.marineaquariumexpo.com/SEAMAX INDEX.html

PSAS is a great club. I just joined and have only attended 1 meeting but it was a lot of fun, lots of knowledgeable people who had no problems answering my newbie questions.

I too have been looking for a South Sound group. I live on the peninsula and getting to Seattle (PSAS) is a chore, not to mention finding any LFS's! Thanks for the info Returnofsid! I am going to go check out Rogue Reefers now...
