looking for LFSs

Hi, We are located two hours SW of Saint Louis, Rolla to be exact. My area is a ghost town when it comes to fish stores around here so my husband and I are taking a trip to STL this coming weekend to check out some LFS in the area. Care to name a few good ones?

I have a 40b SPS dominated tank and I am looking for a clam and some monti caps. My husband wants to stake out a store that sells nice sized fish to stock his 240g FOWLR that he will be setting up soon. Thanks!

I had looked at it before posting a thread, however this list is from back in 2006. It can't be the most up to date seeing Kingdom Aquatics isn't on there so that makes wander if there are more stores that isn't listed OR some of the ones that are listed are no longer in business. I can do the work of calling those on the list and verifying their location and hours.

I know marine solutions had some sales going on for some 5-6" maximas .

Gateway Aquatics -The Corner Reef - Marine Solutions - Corals and More are the ones I frequent most often. Theres also Saltwater Island (although I havent been there in a while) Kingdom Aquatics ( Ive personally never been there but have heard its nice and plan on checking out this week) and Im sure theres a few I'm missing but these are off the top of my head.

I regularly still use the list. I personally have recently had great luck at Kingdom, Corner Reef and Gateway Aquatics.

I'm new to all this but I really like gateway, corals and more, and marine solutions. I went into seascape studios last week. Very nicely set up and very helpful staff.

Actually, if you look at the bottom of that list, Nook edited it about a week ago. That being said, Kingdom isn't on there (only been open a while though), Paradise Corals is actually called Saltwater Paradise, and at least one LFS isn't on there because of some issues (from what I understand).

I'm a bit biased with my favorites because of my distance from most of them, but I would say that Gateway and Corner Reef are must sees.

I am so envious of all the fish stores up there lol. We moved here (Rolla) due to the Military, and came from a place that had several stores. It was all too often that my husband and I would just go to the LFSs on a whim lol. Our bank account doesn't mind the lack of them but I don't like being deprived of my addiction.

I feel your pain. I'm an hour and a half from the nearest one of these LFS.

I had not been to any shop for 5 years, and I was very impressed with the frag deals and quality on 3 out of 4 stores. STL metro shop scene is very good!
