looking for Strawberry Shortcake Coral

I saw Strawberry Shortcake Corals at the Frag Swap end of last year, and I have wanted one since then. Does anyone have one they would part with? I can buy or trade for some equipment. I live near Gurnee, let me know.

Reefwise had a few nice frags of them last week. You could give them a call. They were reasonably priced and good sized.

I have never been to Reefwise becasue that is a pretty long hike for me. I live at the Naval Base, thats a good hour drive.

...erm.. ive driven up to 2 hours for Fish stores.. ha.. i live on the West side of Illinois, (rockford area) .. .and drive into the city all the time, sometimes up to Milwaukee as well.. haha

From the prices I've heard out of Reefwise, way too expensive for a drive that long.

I might be biased, but I think his prices are more then fair on an average. I think a lot of that idea comes from selling a lot of higher end corals and fish. There are not a lot of places that carry chevron tangs, sargassum triggers, or gold flake angels on a weekly basis. On top of that, even those are priced under the online vendors. I got a good sized Blue Spot Jawfish from him for $98 when Liveaquaria has them listed for $130. Another reason, he gets all his fish orders from Quality Marine instead of A-pet which does a two week qt prior to sending them out to vendors and then Brian qt's them for another week in copper and slowly raises the salinity. You will also be flat out amazed at the quantity of corals he's got. He's still working on his fish setup so he doesn't have the quantity I would expect him to have when it's done.

I think that Reefwise has good prices. I picked up a supermale lineatus wrasse for almost $100 less than online stores. Plus there are fish that I've never seen anywhere locally such as Griffis angels, Naoko wrasses, etc. It's one of the few stores thats well worth the trip.

reefwise is worth the drive. one-i've lived where you live now. GLNB-HM3-1995
Now I am in Champaign and it's 2 hrs north of me. Great store, worth the drive every time.

Their prices gave got alot better. He now has $10 $15 $20 dollar sps. Some nice pieces too I got a orange setosa and purple digi each for 15. I used to avoid reefwise but I think they are learning not everyone wants to spend $50+ on a frag.
