Looks like candy floss??

I've noticed this growing on one of my zoanthids recently. Looks like a little furry growth, doesn't seem to upset the zoanthid at all, but curious as to what it is and whether it is going to spread.

The zoanthid has been happy for a couple of months now. Anyone know what this is?

It looks like some type of sponge to me. If your zoanthids don't seem to mind then just leave it be. GL.

Why is the tank so red??
Yes it is a sponge and I have had them choke out some zoas in my system before..... but I grow sponge like crazy

I've got a light that simulates sunrise for an hour each morning. It was in sunrise mode. Probably entirely unnecessary but pretty cool to watch.

I'll keep an eye on the sponge.. Cheers for your help.
