loose leather

I bought a large leather about a month ago. It was not on a rock. The base is about 1 1/2" in diameter and about 6" tall. I put a zip tie through the base and around a rock assuming it would fix its self to the rock. It hasn't changed at all and is not attaching to the rock. Should I trim some off the bottom of the base and fasten it to a rock or just give it more time?

The leather is healthy as it expands great in the light.

Thoughts?

Thanks

I usually just stick their foot into a hole in LR or between two pieces of LR and leave them be. They'll eventually attach to the rock.

Thats what I was hoping would happen. However its a pretty big piece once its inflated and wont stay put. I was hoping holding it to a rock would work, but it hasnt held at all. Might have to try something else.

Hmm, ok. I wonder if maybe its because it sways a bit in the flow and thats keeping it from connecting. Maybe Ill try some superglue around the base to see if that will hold it in place long enough to secure its self.
