loose mushroom

Gluing a loose mushroom will most likely not work, it'll slime up and fly off. I'd suggest using a rubber band and putting it on piece of rubble or put them in a little container with crushed coral and waiting for it to attach and then you can glue it preferably with a mesh top and low flow.

I always struggled with my loose corals. you cant just let thm float around because theyll decide the ideal spot is behind some rock! haha. i just stuff them into a crevice and hope they attatch...not the bst metgod tho;)

yes, they have the ability to walk. rubber band it to a piece of live rock or not, but place it in a Tupperware container with some rubble. It will attach eventually and then you can glue the rubble where you want. They might walk from there, but it's your best shot. Beware that they grow and spread rather quickly and will give other corals quite a sting so keep them far away from others.

do shrooms behave like a anemone? do they walk around and find their spot?

IMO mushrooms do not "walk" as an anemone would, or could....my mushrooms typically will sloooooowly slide over or more often, will just release itself and float in the tank and fall somewhere I DON'T want it to be....lol

a small plastic cup or bowl with small sized rubble and placed in a low flow area is typically my most successful way of having it attach....then glue the rubble in YOUR favorite spot as long as it is not a high flow area because the shroom will just release itself again...low flow, low/medium light is a mushroom's favorite place :D

GL :)

Good to Know I never knew shooms were stingy ?

This is the setup I use. Doesnt have to be too complex. Plastic container, sand to weigh it down, a few pieces of rubble and I just use a rock to block the main current from sucking the lose shrooms out. But plenty of water is still allowed to get in.

I use a tupperware and put some rubble rock inside. Then glue the rock the mushroom attached to. Make sure you stick it where there is little to no flow.

I usually take a rubble rock and place the mushroom in the center of the rock and then place bridal veil over the whole rock and secure it with a plastic tie or a rubber band so the mushroom cannot move much but not so much that the mushroom is bulging out through the veil. The shroom will eventually attach to the rock in a week or two.

Don't let the mushroom flutter around the tank. It'll end up attaching somewhere you don't want it or getting stuck in dark crevice where you'll never see it
