Hello Sinaloa213,

Are you running a sump or just your main tank?

Often, microbubbles come from the skimmer's output whether the skimmer is in the sump, close to the return pump, or in the main display.

If the skimmer is in the sump, just place some live rock rubble around the skimmes's output and that will trap the little bubbles, if your skimmer is a hang on and the output is in your display tank, get a fifty cents woman's nylon from Walgreens and stick the skimmer's output there. That's what I have done in the past in those two cases when I have had that problem.
If the skimmer is not the source of your bubbles, start by checking your pumbing.

I hope it helps you!

ahhh thank you finally an answer
yes the skimmeris in the sump i have just a couple of pices of rock in my sump?
dont know where exactly to place it?

also if the bubbles are sticking to every thing you might need more tank flow. the added current will not let the bubbles stick.

How old is the tank?.......algae usually produce gas that is often on the rock in/on the sand........if not that I say skimmer...

Sinaloa213,

I agree with the two opinions above.
In terms of live rock/rubble rock placement, see if the following gives you a better visual idea of what I am trying to say.

If your sump is a rectangle and your skimmer is at one end of it, near your drain pipe/hose, and your return pump is at the opposite end, place your live rock/rock rubble in between the two, like building a wall. This way, the water will filter through, but the bubbles will not as much. You can also use some kind of aquarium foam to help you with this, or weeding dress veil/net, but the disadvantage to the man-made materials is that at least once per week, you will have to take them out and rinse them, so they don't become your phosphate/nitrate factory.

If you can post pictures of your sump, that would help greatly those who would like to give your their opinion.

In case you don't know how to post pictures, here is a thread that will make it a piece of cake. I learned how to do it today and I feel like a real man now! LOL

I have a feeling that this is where your bubbles are comeing from. If you have been increasing your bioload this will often occur. Another reason it may occur is due to increases, in time or intensity, in the lighting....I'm currently going though an incease in the aglae growth due to inceasing some of my lights photoperiods.

the lights use to be hanging from the cieling but sice i got a new hood i have the lights on top of my tank
there has been alot of algae growth on the rocks and glass.
havent added any corals of fish for about a month.
the tank is about 8-9 months
