Lots of scratches in Acrylic input needed

No way I can sit and buff this all out by hand. Has anyone used a power hand sander on the acrylic? They dont show up hardly at all when the tank is full, but I want to buff out as many as possible now. Both viewing sides are covered in tiny light scratches

Thanks

Maybe just a buffer and no sanding? Search on that though as I was always so afraid to mess my tank up I never even used my scratch kit.

Maybe get some scrap acylic form somone scratch it up and try a couple of techniques before you attack the tank.

ooo ooo me!
i have an electric buffer i bought just for buffing my tank. (i got it used and abused)
i don't recommend the sandpaper unless it is a very tiny area and you have a lot of time, patience and arm strength. it will take forever, your arm will hurt, and it may not even come out right.

mine was COVERED in micro scratches. i used my electric buffer from home depot, and some buffing stuff i got from MS.
after 15ish hours of buffing, it looked a lot lot lot better. some big scratches still remained, but the haze that was there is gone.

i will gladly loan you the buffer and the buffing agent i have left over. pm me if interested.

I buffed out the 75 acrylic tank with a random orbit buffer I use for the Firebird...that and some Novus and you can make it like new. It is important to use a random orbit style buffer.
