Loud Maxi Jet! Help please...

I have a Maxi jet Pro 900 and I, for the life of me, cannot get it to run quietly while it is in the water movement configuration. I do not know if it is an issue with propeller or the propeller cover, but when I first plug it in it will give a bit of a kick as it starts and run quiet for maybe 5 seconds and it will click/kick/vibrate and start with an awful humming noise. I have tried everything I can think of to get it to run quietly but to no avail. It runs completely silently in the powerhead setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated as the flow difference is about 1/3 of what I was wanting it to be.

i had the same problem with an mj1200. i returned it and the new one is much better. +1, take it back.
