I'm so new at this stuff but is so beautiful that I'm going all the way...please help me with the salinity in my water, right now is 1.022 and I measure it almost every day with a refractometer, what can I do to raise it to about 1.025 with out shocking every thing inside? My tank is 31/2 weeks old, I have 130 lb of live rock, 4" of live sand, 4 damsels, 2 camel shrimps, 2 red shrimps, 4 emerald crabs, 1 horseshoe crab, 4 sallies, 6 red leg hermits, 2 sand sifting stars, 1 small pumping xenia, everythig is stable, but my SG, I don't want to kill anything, please help me rise the SG safely ...

Through water changes, slowly add water that is slightly higher in SG. Do this is in multiple steps so that you're slowing rising the SG, ie. don't add water with a SG of 1.025 to your tank.

Also, as water evaporates from your tank, the SG will rise on it's own (since salt doesn't evaporate)

that is a low, but i keep mine one the lower side simply in case i'm too lazy to get ro/di water for top off or if i just don't have time. it's not that big of a deal. the larger your tank, the more forgiving it will be. just take a bag of salt (if you're really worried) and dump some in the sump (little by little of course) until your happy. actually, i just scrolled up and saw that you have halides. check your SG again tomarrow and i bet you it will be higher.

relax a bit, you added a bit much stock in a non cycled tank..

to raise your 110G by 1.001, take out 1G of tank water, add 100grams (1/2 cup maybe) of salt, mix well for at least 1h, dump slowly in a high flow area. Retest after 1h.

btw, your tank is so new....Are you sure that it's cycled properly? When did you add all that livestock?

the livestock was added about 10 days ago with no problem, some are in there for 2 weeks, nothing has died....YET!!! thank you all for your help I will do it gradually
