Lps addict. Just some pointers needed

Reel North

New King of Quarantine
Sorry about the caps in the title!

I find LPS to be the most interesting corals, and as such, I have 3 torches, 2 frogspawn, a duncan and 2 hammers. They have between 2 & 7 heads (all purchased in the last 3 weeks

What can be near each other, and what can't.

Also, I have read that glueing, or putting epoxy on the bottom of the skeleton will limit the corals growth. True or false.

Any tips for me?

I have a 150 g long with Ecotech radions and 2 MP40s.

How much light and flow will make these things really pop.

Lighting won't need to be too high, if they start to close or don't open with the lights on you have too much. I glue the base with no issues. Torches, frogspawn and hammers are all the same family and for the most part can be near each other, though I've heard some torches have even stung their own kind before. Target feeding I find enjoyable to watch, mysis, brine, and I also use coral frenzie.

If you're talking about the dead part of the skeleton, where there's no tissue... completely false.

Looking at the stalk or branches, you can tell what is covered by living tissue, and what isn't. Living tissue will be slimy to the touch and not having anything growing on it. Dead skeleton won't. You can glue and epoxy to your heart's desire on dead skeleton and not have any effect on the coral.

Even if you *do* epoxy over some of the living tissue in order to secure a branch to a rock, it'll just kill off the tissue under the epoxy but not necessarily effect the coral itself.

As far as what can touch what... best bet is to keep them all away from each other. Normally, corals within each species can touch, but that's not always the case.

Don't do what I did with my tank and make the torch the "centerpiece" coral. Putting it in the center gives it the ability to reach a LOT of tank, and their sting is nasty. Best to keep them isolated in their own corners, in my opinion.

I have 6 or 7 Euphyllia, including 2 frog spawn and 3 torches and 2 hammers. I guess thats enough.

How big do they generall get size wise? softball, dessert plate (lol)

Im trying to figure out the spacing

Welcome to the Euphyllia Club . LOL

This was my 40 Breed which got outgrown VERY quickly .
As you can tell.. a 40 breeder is 36" long..So this colony when this picture was taken was about 15-17" wide And almost touched front to back.

Oh. I think I'm in love. Lol. Just picked up a stunning elegance as well as 2 torch frags. One is bright green and the other is green 2 tone
