LR from group order

Has anyone used the LR from the group order in a new tank? I put some in 2 different tanks a week ago last Saturday. The ammonia in both tanks went to .25 after a couple of days and then went back to 0 with nitrite and nitrate staying at 0. I expected a much larger spike with uncured rock. Or was this "replacement" rock cured?

Dieoff and the length of cure is determined by a few factors:

1) How well the rock was cleaned before it was shipped to you?

2) Was the rock held/cured at the dealer before it was shipped out?

3) What was the outside air temperature during shipping?

4) How long was the shipping time to the time you put it in your tank?

If the rock was relatively clean and cured before shipping it to you and it was shipped under conditions that weren't too hot and too long, then I wouldn't expect a long cycle at all. I bought rock from Premium Aquatics 2 day ship and the cycle was hardly noticable and lasted less than a week.

I put all 200# of the rock into the St Jude tanks and didn't notice much of a spike either. You can tell its really good rock from the smell and lack of black (i.e. dead) things on it. The coraling encrusting on the pieces I had is nice and I've already gotten compliments on the "pretty" new rocks.

Cool, just wanted a 2nd opinion. All of mine is pretty clean with some nice coralline on it too. I also have an interesting piece of encrusting something or other on 1 rock that I am curious about. Stuck a couple of expendable I mean brave cerith snails in there to investigate a suspicious clicking in one of the tanks.
