LR positioning

I am going to tear apart My rock work for cleaning and etc. I would like to know if it is OK to position the LR all the way to the back. Should it have water flow behind it? I am going to leave space on the sides so that the rock is not up against the glass.
Any opinions?

IMO, i would put a spray bar or some type of flow going behind the rocks...if not, you are probably going to end up with a massive amount of detrius buildup that could cause problems.... its better to keep as much crap suspended as you can, so your filtration can do the rest.... hope that helps

I have my rock against the back. I have a power head that points right behind them along the back glass. I have not had any problems with it.

Thanks so much for the replys. I have it now about 4" from the back and can't do much back there anyhow, so am going to move it all the way back to make more room in the front. I will direct water flow back there to keep everything out.
