Luxeon and Cree LED in same circuit

Is it safe to put these together on one circuit? Will run about ~3v +/- .2 and 700mA +/- 100mA. Rapid LED gives min/max current and voltage for each one. They seem to overlap around these numbers. Any experiences? I'm doing a DIY lighting for my new nano and wanted to give DIY lighting a try.

LEDs don't care what they are run with, and the driver doesn't care what they are running, as long as the voltage does not exceed the maximum that the driver can safely output, and the current the driver provides is not too much for the LEDs. :)

Thanks guys. Is there any 12000K to 20000K LEDs available that b you'd recommend in a build? I always experience algae blooms with any LEDs below 6000K

I'd never recommend anything above 5000K for color reasons. Without spectral coverage over 480nm you lose color and warmth to the light. If you have algae problems with any light, then you're doing something wrong. For the last several months I've been running a coral quarantine tank with an old algae scrubber light - four royal blue, four 430nm violet, four 660nm, and two 2700K white, and I never experienced any uncalled for algae growth until a couple of weeks ago I performed a half-saltwater dip on everything in the tank and killed hundreds and hundreds of fireworms, leaving them in the tank to rot and see what happened.

very unlikely you have hundreds of fireworms in your tank"¦the occurrence of this species of worm in any aquarium is few and far between"¦that said i too would not recommend any leds over the 5000k temp either (neutral white) although i don't mind my CW's i like the look of the neutrals better, and i have my CW turned way down to the point they appear neutral in colour..

Ever done a freshwater dip on live rock? It'll tell you real fast how many you have :D

That was one pile of dozens that kept coming out from the rocks over the next few days after the dip.

And here was a REALLY big one, was about 3" long.

White LEDs do not change their color temperature when dimmed unless you are running them on a constant voltage driver which is pushing them out of spec, or they are being run above or below their thermal thresholds (which are usually somewhere around -20C to 150C).

Those appear to be fireworms. I haven't seen bristleworms that have looked liked that ever before so I would assume so. Would you ever recommend a freshwater dip for the base of corals if they attached to a rock when you buy them?

way off topic but those all look like common bristle worms, harmless detrivors..i have hundreds just like them…

as for my whites, they sure seem to change…but after completely blinding myself just now it does appear that the colour remains constant...

Off topic but Dont bristle worms have two colors on their bodies while fireworms tend to display solely a red coloration?
