Hey guys and gals, working with a friend, trying to decide on adding some more LED's to his 180.
There are currently 4 39W T5's, 3 80W T5's and 9 Luxeon M Royal Blue LED's on his 180. The 9 are spaced in groups of 3 across the 6 feet of the 180, near the front of the tank angled back slightly. Those 9 cover the tank really well, but we were thinking of adding more to the back of the tank, and taking out a single 80W T5 to make room.
I don't have the PAR meter at the moment, so I was hoping that someone with these monsters could measure the PAR emitted by a single Luxeon M Royal blue at 1000mAh, at 6" and 12" below the water?
The rock at the back of the tank is very near the top of the water, and there are lots of nice Zoas up there, I would hate to fry them. I was thinking of using just 3 more LED's, 1 per 24" section with a light diffuser over the emitter to help with spread. Or would 2 per 24" be a better idea if we are trying to replicate the PAR of an 80W Blue +?
Thank you for the input, it is appreciated.
