Here's my situation. I thought my hippo tang had ich. I put all my fish in qt and I've been treating them by hypo for the last 6 weeks. Display tank has been fallow for 8 weeks. I found out yesterday I've been keeping my salinity at 1.006 and the tang still shows signs of ich that lead me to believe they have Lymphocystis. I really don't know what to do. I've talked to several people in my reef club and all I hear is to get new fish

Describe the appearance of the fish. How are you measuring SG?

They both are my thread. I accidentally double posted. I thought I had ich and after 6 weeks of hypo and still showing signs of ich. That's when I started thinking it may be Lymphocystis. The tang is covered in white spots and is also starting to show signs of hlle and a couple of my chromis have a beige looking lumps

Do the white spots look like a sprinkle of salt? Or are they "lumpy"?

Not necessarily true. Hypo is difficult to execute correctly.

Ok I was going to leave them in qt doing hypo. I put an ato on the tank today

read your own post above. Without an ATO, you were likely exceeding 1.009 periodically. If that is true, each time, the clock restarts.

Freshwater dips do nothing for cryptocaryon irritans.
