Kinda depends on what kind of Tang. Thats a pretty broad referrence, and its also going to be up to the individual fishes tastes. I think for the most part the calcearous algae are safe, like Halimeda, shaving brush, Udotea. Did I just name two that are the same? . Then there are always exceptions. Chances are very good that the algae the fish will ignore is the one you most desperately want to get rid of.
