maculosis fungus

is this lymphosystis or a fungus that may be caused from a bacteria? i seen lympho alot but not in these type of striations on the body take a look please

External saprophytic fungus infections are virtually non-existent in marine fishes. That said, I've also not seen Lymphocystis get as bad as that fish seems to have. Can you get a better picture? Was the development of these lesions slow (over a few weeks) or rapid (over 2 to 5 days)? It is possible that the fish has dual infections - Lymphocystis plus Ichthyophonus or something like that.

he is in a quarantine system that had been dosed with copper and there are no signs of ich or crypto, oodinium ... one fish had brook, but he was isolated ... they happened relatively rapidly, over a phew days ... seen lots of lympho in my life, this appear different ...

Yeah, Lymphocystis won't develop that fast. Hard to say what else it could be from that photo. Any chance of being able to catch the fish up and doing a skin scrape and looking at it under a microscope?

Sorry to barge in here but I also have a fish in a hospital tank with these same spots. Appeared after being in cupramin for 2 weeks... I have many questions to ask Seachem but they are no longer on here...

well i'll tell u ... i have seen lympho many times, but only on larger angels ... i ran the skimmer on the system for three days anddid a large water change after and haven;t added any more copper, the copper levels are now undetectable ... upon the water change i redosed prazi and added kanamyacin incase the fungus was a symptom of a bacterial infection ... the 'fungus' has began to be depleted on the maculosis ... but this similar experience is on a show size personifer i did not post a picture of; the striated nature of the fungus led me to believe it wasnt clumpy lympho .... but the maculosis has begun to look better, personifer no ... is it the kana treating the bacteria or the lack of copper reducing the stress of the angel, reducing the lympho ... all my angels get lympho during copper treatments ... still very questionable ...
