Mag 9 orientation

Will there be any problems running a Mag 9 on its side so that the output side is facing straight up? I don't have much space left in my sump after putting in my ASM G3 skimmer and I would like to have more room for my fuge if possible.

Thats how I have always run them.

They just don't sit very well as they kinda rock back and forth when oriented this way. How do you keep them from rocking? I was going to sit the pump on 4 suction cups.

I didn't think it would hurt anything but I want to make sure before I put my final piece of glass in the sump.

I have never had them move around. But I always plump in pvc so I guess that would keep it steady.

Yup mine all sit on their side and plummed to pvc. The intake is commign out the side and outlet is pointing straight up. Thats how i run mine.
