Mag drive 36 for sale.

I'm selling my mag 36 pump if anyone is interested. I used it for about 7 days for a pond and dismantled the pond. It's been collecting dust now for a few months. I purchased it for 180.00 from Aquatic Eco. The thing is in mint condition and even their sticker they put on their pumps is mint. (Should tell you the condition of the pump). No rust anywhere on any screws and I have the original box and the intake piece.

As I was removing that big honking magnet, I busted the ceramic piece. Impeller can be purchased for 32 dollars. Or if you need it as a back up pump and already have one, then you should be set :).

Since it is in perfect condition and needs an impeller, I figured 90.00 would be a good deal for a pump that pushes 3600 gph. Great for ponds or a nice big tank. No chemicals were used in the pond while this pump was in it.

If anyone is interested, I'll post pictures. Otherwise, I'll toss it on ebay.

Edit: Noticed it has a 3 year warranty. I'll try to get the impeller replaced. If so, I'll sell it for 120.

I would be running this as internal pump, how much heat does it produce? i've heard some people say mag drives run hot...

I used to run a mag 24 and a mag 18 at the same time in my old 220 gallon tank and never had any heat problems, but i did have a little more total volume then you are running.

think a mag 36 would be overkill for a 90? the return actually is 4 outlets that are in each corner of tank connected by pvc...sorta a closed loop run by return pump...if you know what i'm trying to explain

I'm not sure. 3600 gph is quite a bit. It might be good on a closed loop. I know some have used Mag drives as external drives but honestly I don't know. As far as heat, I wouldn't know either. I never tested it out and didn't use it long enough to notice. But it is cheap for the price. I just bought a pump that retails for 170 dollars and only does 900 gph.

I'll find out probably Monday on the impeller if I can get it replaced. If no one is interested by Wednesday, I'll throw it on ebay.

Thanks.

I dont think it will be to much for a 90. By the time you add in the head pressure, a few 90s in the plumbing its going to drop a lot.

Aquatic Ecosystems told me it is still under warranty so they everything should be replaced with the impeller. Until I find out what happens, I'll hold on this sale. Since they don't carry it anymore, maybe I'll get a refund.
