Does it make a difference if you use the same one on glass or acrylic? I bought one for my acrylic a while back but up graded to a bigger tank and it is glass. Is my old mag float going to work or will it scratch it?
Acrylic scratches way easier than glass, so if its made to handle with safely acrylic, then its def not going to scratch glass. However, it may not be as effective at scraping algea as its glass made counterparts because the bristles are softer...but that may just mean that you have to do three swipes instead of two.....no big deal.
Ok. Thanks. I will have to make sure no one plays with it this time. My old tank was pretty much destroyed. I came home from a friend's house and found that my sister got a bunch of sand in it and did three passes a crossed the whole front.
o yeah sand in the mag on an acrylic is gonna cause some nasty scratches....but i dont think that will be as much as a problem with the glass. I have scraped my live rock on my glass a few times and theres been no sratching. U know u can drain ur arylic and polish of those sratches ...
