I am looking for some Magicians to add to a 28G cube with 50/50 35watt Pc bulbs x2 in the hood.

Any tips on placement, best levels, ect???

How fast do these tipicaly grow?

I mainly feed Cyclop-Ezze, flake, and sup with phytoplankton 2x a week.

I picked up a polyp today, I'm thinking I'll put them in the middle of the tank to the upper part. Not sure where just yet, but pretty much all my other bright stuff likes more light.

As a rule of thumb always start at the bottom unless you have seen where they were in the prior tank and what lighting and flow was used. If you know that then just place them in the same level and flow in your tank. If the lighting is different then you have to take that into account. If you run metal halides and the tank they came from is running T-5's then start at the bottom and vise versa if lighting is the other way around. I don't mean start them at the top but maybe a quarter to half way with T-5's. Hope that helps ya. Good luck. Oh and I have found that it can take weeks before the true colors come out and show them selves sometimes. Be patient.

Nice. Thanks Dave. He had them under T5's so I wanted to start on mid tank level with the PC's.

Good luck to you as well Roger...

I had two two-head frags and for some reason they completely went transparent. I moved them higher, since the tank they were in had 400wt MH lights and I'm running a 6 bulb 54wt T5 light, and they got worst. I recently set up a frag tank and moved them into there and so far they are maintaining. I think they are beginning to get their color back too. I bought another frag and so far its doing fine as well. I love these zoas. They have a special place in my heart since I am a magician too!

I have a 3 polyp frag that was under T5 and I put them on the sand bed about 20" from light under a 150 MH they are doing great and have 2 babies now 3-4 weeeks later. I love these and they look awesome under blue LED's at night. Also mine have very stong indirect flow and I havent moved them since I got them I think this is key to their growth place them and leave them alone for a while I always wait 3-4 weeks before moving a frag.

Wow! 2 babies in 3-4 weeks.... Great news.

I switched to 50-50 bulbs right before putting them in and am regretting it. I cant go atinics only now to see things really pop...... oh well, I'll switch back in 7-8 months.

Tank is looking great!

Thanks Miller_Time!!!
