Hey Randy...what is mag chloride labled in the stores as??? Mag Chloride? I know this is perhaps a dumb question, but is it used as ice melt?

I lived in Raleigh for several years. I remember one ice storm that had the Wake county schools closed for 7 school days in a row!

Anyway, mail order may be the only way.

The article shows a picture of the bag when sold for ice melting and dust control:

An Improved Do-it-Yourself Two-Part Calcium and Alkalinity Supplement System

Let me rephrase. I live in Raleigh as well (my entire life) and we do get very little snow/ice. So when we do have ice/snow (at all) roads/businesses/schools close because we dont have the equipment to clear the roads....which includes these products. Thats why its been hard finding this stuff. Thanks for the help. I think youre right in that mail order will be the only way.....only problem there is that the places that carry this stuff have a minimum shipment order of 22 tons.......dont think I will be needing that much :)

....so if anyone has this and can ship a bag for a fair price please let me know!

Thanks again,
Jeff

They actually list keeping down the dust in horse riding arenas as a use for it, so you might call a ound to horse supply places.

Where in Raleigh? In the late 80's I lived on Brooks Ave, not far from NC State. :)

I actually live in Cary now but I grew up in Raleigh and I am still 5 minutes from Raleigh. I went to NCSU for college. I still frequent the bars on Hillsborough St. quite often, and downtown Raleigh is really growing!
