What is it? I was told either green bubble tip or majano

any ideas? Pest? Get rid of it? It just split this morning

Howdy! It's too tough to tell with it all closed up like that, but Mojano may be a good guess. You'll have to wait until it open up before you nuke it IMO! Shouldn't be long.

if it is a majono they are considered a pest by some but my clowns love them and host them. they do not split that fast for me and they stay pretty small. i think they have great color and they are nothing like aiptasia. majono's are very easy to get rid of if need be as they are just like a regular anemone with a foot.

give it a chance and if it ends up not being something you like then get rid of them. i actually have some people who were on a waiting list for some of mine after they had a look at my tank and how much my clowns loved them.

heres another picture

i have a 5 gallon at work thats cycling and was going to be a clown/anemone tank so they might both just go there... hopefully they wont split again

They are considered to be pests by almost everyone in the hobby. They can very quickly take over the entire tank. I'm not sure exactly, but considering it's an anemone - I'd imagine its sting will damage the coral.

You will want to eliminate it.

No, it will not be a host to clowns. They stay far too small.

just take out that rock and scrape them off. I had them all over my tank and got a mated filefish...lil trooper ate every one.

I suggest taking the rock out and throwing it away.
I just tore down a 180 and replaced all the rock because of this nuisance.
If you think scraping it off is going to work think again. If any residue is left it will regenerate.

I've used Joe's Juice on aiptasia. It worked temporarily and when the aiptasia came back, there were three or four where there had originally been one. I've read that injecting aiptasia and mojanos with lemon or lime juice works well but haven't tried it myself. If you try it, I'd remove the rock from the tank to do the treatment and then give it a fresh water rinse before putting it back. Good luck.

for those you can just take out the rock and scrape them off...but seriously, mated filefish will devour all your majanos. My tank was infested with them...I cant find one anymore.
